Tinted Window Cleaning

Before we get into cleaning window tints we need to understand what they are and how they work before we can clean them! Window film blocks 99% of the sun's ultraviolet rays from entering your home, business, or vehicle. This helps reduce glare while protecting skin and eyes from damage. By blocking UV rays, window tinting also helps protect furnishings, upholstery, paintings, and tapestries from fading and discoloration.

What most do not realize is that tint is a thin piece of dark film that goes on over the inside of your window.  Most will grab the a bottle of Windex underneath the kitchen sink and a paper towel to clean their tinted windows. This is about the worst thing one can do to try and clean a tinted window. Most Glass cleaners you buy over the counter such as Windex is an ammonia based cleaner.

Ammonia is an 11.6 on the Ph scale which can be very detrimental on the tint. Ammonia can cause fading, peeling, cracking, and  spotting on all tint. Because window tint is a thin piece a film it is very prone to scratches, which is why paper towels should never be used as a cleaning tool.

The best and safest way to clean your tinted window is using SIMONIZ Vison Clear and a microfiber towel. Our window cleaners are ammonia free and formulated to be the best and safest product to use on tinted windows. Microfiber towels are highly recommended because of the incredibly soft fibers and the streak free finish it leaves behind.
